Elías Puc

Mexican musician and composer, graduated in Musical Arts at the School of Arts of Yucatan. He studied with composer Javier Alvarez Fuentes and has taken classes with national and international composers such as Karlheinz Essl, Parmerud Ake, Ken Ueno, Mauricio Valdes, Leon Enriquez and Rodrigo Sigal.

His work includes acoustic, mixed, electroacoustic compositions and sound installations, which have been presented at festivals in Mexico, Colombia, United States, Ecuador, Brazil, Cuba, Uruguay and Spain such as the University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC); Contemporary Art Museum Ateneo Yucatan (MACAY); 33 International Forum of New Music "Manuel Enríquez" (Mexico, 2011); International Meeting of Music and Sonic Arts EIMAS (Brazil 2010); "Spring in Havana" Festival (Cuba, 2010); Contemporary Instrumenta Festival 2008 and 2009 (Oaxaca, Mexico); International Contemporary Music Festival 2008 and 2010 (Morelia, Mexico); Free Improvisation Festival Cha'ak'ab Paaxil, 2008, 2009 and 2010 (Merida, Mexico); among others.

His music has been performed by Yucatan Symphony Orchestra, "Sequenza Sur" an ensemble dedicated to contemporary music, Eva Zöllner, Edith Ruiz, Sylvain Verges, Guillermo Portillo, among others. His piece Sonor-Kapsule received in 2011 an honorable mention in the category of acousmatic works at the Latin American Competition of Electroacoustic Composition "Gustavo Becerra Schmidt", organized by "The Electroacoustic Community of Chile" (CECh) in Santiago.

In 2013 he received the grant with the project "Laboratory Suigeneris" by FONCA. Nowadays he's member of collective mákinadT, developing live electronics.
